Home Remedies for Acne

Pimples are a normal skin condition that affects many people. Pimples are an inflammation of the skin in which the sebaceous glands become infected with bacteria, swell up, and fill with pus. Excess sebum secretion by the oil glands is the primary cause behind this problem. Pimples generally occur on the face, neck, back and shoulders. Though not a critical condition, pimples can make a person feel miserable due to their appearance. There are a lot of lotions and medicines on the market to treat pimples, but they can take time. Many natural methods are effective in treating pimples within a very short time period. Home remedies for Acne are the best way to get rid of from this problem.

Causes

Nobody is completely sure what causes acne. Experts believe the primary cause is a rise in androgen levels - androgen is a type of hormone. Androgen levels rise when a human becomes an adolescent. Rising androgen levels make the oil glands under your skin grow; the enlarged gland produces more oil. Excessive sebum can break down cellular walls in your pores, causing bacteria to grow. Here we will see some home remedies for Acne to get rid of from this issue.

Home Remedies

  1. Baking soda or sodium bicarbonateworks as a gentle exfoliate for your skin.  Thus, it unplugs the pores and removes dead skin. You have to just apply a paste of one or two teaspoons of baking soda and a little water. Rinse it off after some time. After that, mix together two tablespoon cinnamon powder, the juice of half a lemon, and five tablespoons honey. Apply it on your face and wash after five minutes.
  2. Lemon is one of the best home remedies for acne. The acidic property of lemons can be very useful in treating acne. Lemon will clean out dirt that has accumulated in the pores and will harden the sebum. You can use it on your skin daily, but if it is too drying then use it every two or three days. Cut a slice of lemon and rub it on the affected area. Leave it for few hours and rinse your face.
  3. You can also mix lemon juice with rose water in equal amounts and use the solution to wash the affected area thoroughly.
  4. The toothpaste that you use regularly to clean your teeth can also help clear up an acne problem. This is, in fact, one of the easiest home remedies for acne. Apply a small amount of white toothpaste on the affected area before going to bed. The toothpaste will reduce the swelling and dry out the acne. Within a day or two, you should see significant improvement.
  5. Ice can be used to quickly reduce the redness, swelling and inflammation of pimples. It helps in improving blood circulation to the affected area, and in tightening the skin pores and removing dirt and oil accumulated on the skin. You can use ice cubes or crushed ice, whichever is convenient
  6. Dip a clean cotton swab in fresh lemon juice and apply it to the pimples before going to bed.
  7. You can also mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and put it on the affected area overnight.
