  • Asafoetida: 1 pinch
  • Cumin seeds: 1/4 tsp.
  • Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp.
  • Red chilli powder: 1/4 tsp.
  • Garam masala: less than 1/4 tsp.

Method of preparation:

  • Chop soya chaap into chunks and place them in a pan with preheated oil. Fry these chunks until light brown and then remove them from the pan in a plate.
  • Now grind tomatoes, green chilli and ginger into a paste. Now, add cumin seed to oil and saute for some time in the pan.
  • Now add coriander powder, asafoetida, turmeric powder, fenugreek seeds, black pepper, garam masala, clove, cinnamon stick, and peeled cardamom. Saute them all for a few minutes and then add the grinded tomato paste to it. Saute with red chilli powder.
  • When the oil moves away from the mixture, add cream and garam masala to it. Let the masala simmer by stirring it continuously. After simmering, add half cup water to it and stir to let the gravy boil. Mix it with green coriander leaves.
  • Add soya chaap to it when the gravy is boiling. Mix it properly and cover the lid to let the chaap be prepared for 5 minutes on a low flame.
