Mushroom Tikka Recipe (4 servings):

Ingredients:

  • Button mushrooms: 200-250 g
  • Ginger-garlic paste: ½ tbsp.
  • Ajwain: ½ tsp.
  • Organic red chilli powder: ¼ or ½ tsp.
  • Garam masala powder: ¼ tsp.
  • turmeric powder/haldi: a pinch
  • Besan/gram flour: 3-4 tbsp.
  • Oil (only if mushrooms are to be grilled in an oven): 1 tbsp.
  • Salt + black salt as required
  • Chaat masala as per taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Lemon juice as required
  • Lemon wedges: a few
  • Onion, sliced: 1 medium sized

Method of preparation:

  • Take the mushrooms and rinse them properly in water. After that, wipe them dry.
  • Trim them properly if needed. Now, put all the mushrooms in a mixing bowl.
  • After that, add Ginger-garlic paste, ajwain, chilli powder, haldi, garam masala, salt, and oil and mix well.
  • Use this masala mixture to marinate the mushrooms. Keep them for 20-25 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, preheat the oven for 200 degrees C.
  • Add the gram flour to the mushrooms and mix well.
  • Bake in over for another 25 minutes. Make sure the mushrooms are cooked and turned brown in colour.
  • During grilling, turn the skewers for grilling the mushrooms uniformly.
  • Spray some oil on them if grilling in over after 20 minutes.
  • Also sprinkle chaat masala, lemon juice, and coriander leaves on the mushroom tikka.
  • Use sliced onion and green chutney to serve it hot or with Indian bread.
