Deep fried soyabean snack (4 servings):


  • Soya bean: 1 cup
  • Oil
  • Chilli powder: ½ tsp.
  • Salt
  • Chaat masala: ½ tsp.
  • Baking soda: 1 tsp.

Method of preparation:

  • Let the soybeans soak in water for 10 hours. Also, add baking soda to the soyabeans soaked in water.
  • After that, drain the water and let them dry for an hour in shade.
  • Use a kadhai or pan to heat the oil and deep fry these soyabeans to let them turn light brown.
  • Now, drain the excess oil on an absorbent tissue paper and then place them in a bowl.
  • Add salt, chilli powder and chaat masala to the soyabeans and mix thoroughly.
  • Also, add lemon juice, chopped onions and coriander leaves to the dish for garnishing.

Expert tips:

  • This dish just requires one to soak them for 8 to 10 hours after which it only takes a few minutes to deep fry. So, it can be a quick treat if the soaking work has been done before cooking when required.
  • Easy on the stomach and awesome on the taste buds. It acts as the perfect appetizer.
  • Garnishing makes it enhance the flavours as well as the colours.
  • Can be eaten as solo or with Indian breads or rice as well.
