The Potato and Peas Salad (4 servings)


  • Baby potatoes with skin: 2 cups
  • Green peas boiled: ½ cup
  • Torn into pieces Lettuce leaves: 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • To prepare the curd dressing (low fat)
  • Fresh fat free curd: ¼ cup
  • Finely chopped dill: 2 teaspoon
  • Finely chopped green chillies: 1
  • Low fat milk: 2 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste

Method of preparation

  • Tie the fat free curd in the thin muslin cloth. Hang it for one hour and permit the water from the curd to drain out.
  • Now, put the hung curd into the bowl.
  • Whisk the low fat hung curd thoroughly to eliminate all the lumps
  • Add the other ingredients like chopped dill, green chillies, low fat milk and salt to taste into the curd.
  • Store the low fat curd dressing in the refrigerator and use it as required.
  • Boil the baby potatoes giving 4-5 whistles. Cut the potatoes into two halves and leave is aside to cool
  • Now, combine the peas, torn lettuce and the unskinned potatoes in the serving bowl.
  • Add the curd dressing into the bowl of salad. Toss well.
  • Refrigerate the salad mixture for at least an hour
  • Serve the salad chilled.
