Crispy Aloo Poori


  • 2 cups flour/atta
  • 3 tbsp fine sooji.
  • Half tsp salt.
  • 1 tsp oil
  • Add Required water for kneading dough.
  • Oil for deep fry. 

How to make the recipe:


  • In a bowl take 2 cups whole wheat flour, 3 tbsp sooji and Half tsp salt.
  • Everything mix well with spoon or with your hands.
  • Add water and 1 tsp oil.
  • Start to kneading the dough.
  • Add more water as required and knead well. The dough should not be too soft but a little stiff and tight.
  • Cover and allow the dough for rest till 30 minutes. Repeated again lightly. 

Rolling and frying: 

  • Make normal size balls of the dough. Cover and keep aside.
  • Now take a dough ball. With your palms a little flatten it and relate oil to it on both sides.
  • Gently roll to a normal sized poori or circles which is neither too thin nor thick.
  • Roll the poori and fry it simultaneously.
  • Heat up oil in a deep frying pan.
  • When the oil is sufficiently hot then add 1 to 2 pooris.
  • The poori rise gradually on top and start puffed and repeat the same process.
  • Once equally sides are crisp well.
  • Serve pooris hot with potato sabji or veg curry.
